The Truth About Breaking Strength

James Anderson and his father George are working hard on a new article to be published in the June-July 2012 issue of Fly Fisherman. George did a similar test and article for Fly Fisherman back in 1986 that turned the industry on its head. Some major manufacturers actually went back and reformulated their  products after the article revealed independent analysis of diameter and breaking strengths.

This time, the Anderson team is adding fluorocarbons to the testing process, and at the same time (why not?) running a battery of tests to determine what the strongest knots are, as a straight pull without knots is not that applicable in the real world. And as always, they are pulling no punches. As everyone knows, the team at Yellowstone Angler gives nothing but straight talk when dealing with product reviews.
