When the temps on the flats drop I find that I like to keep my neck and ears warm. I like to wear a buff for sun protection but when its cool out the Buff works great for keeping my head warm. I even wear a Buff when snow Skiing. Works great. Here are some different links to different types of head wear for the flats.
