Desert Oasis

by Ross Purnell, Editor   |  May 13th, 2016 0

Texas is hot, dry, and inhospitable for most outdoorsmen—unless of course you’re floating or knee deep in a desert oasis like the Devil’s River.  Brent and Ashley Hodges are spending their lives on these waters, and like most fly-fishing couples, they still argue about the best way to row a boat. (And big props to her for rowing while 7 months pregnant!) Watch them find their own escape as they float a remote Texas river in search of bass and solitude:

For more detailed information on the Devil’s River and other Texas opportunities, see Dave Whitlock’s 2012 Fly Fisherman story “Texas Hill Country Bass.”
