BTT - Travel Angling Tips


If you haven't tied a new season's worth of tarpon flies and constructed at least a week's worth of leaders, you're behind. With the warm winter, it may well be that the Florida tarpon season starts early. Winter tarpon fishing in Central America, by all reports, has been strong. And reports from bonefishing hotspots have been out of sight, not to mention the favorable reports from the permit addicts. If you haven't been able to get your flats fishing fix, now is the time to start planning. We still have some spots available for Traveling Angler trips - a chance to fish for research. If you're reading this e-newsletter, that means that you're sitting at a desk, or maybe on your tablet or smartphone - but you're not fishing. It's time to re-sort your priorities and hit the flats.

Being able to do exactly that - drop all else and hit the flats - is why BTT and our partners work so hard toward research and conservation of bonefish, tarpon, and permit. We want to make sure these fisheries remain healthy into the future, and to fix any fisheries that need repair. Below are summaries of just a few of the programs that are underway and always in need of support.
