Fly Casting: Practice Makes Permanent!

For sure you have heard the saying "Practice Makes Perfect". Well I think when we are talking about salt water fly fishing/casting "Practice Makes Permanent"!

The more you put into anything the more you will get out of it. Nothing could be truer when talking about fly fishing the salt water flats. Often Mother Nature will leave you head down and very humbled.

Usually the anglers casting ability more than anything else is to blame. This is easy to fix. Just practice! A lot! The more the better!

Many times anglers will return to their favorite bonefishing lodge a year later with the same leader on their reel that they used last year. This means the odds of this angler practicing for this trip are low.

No one cares how you cast or how many fish you catch other then you. So if you are happy with your fishing trip every year then great! Those of you who want to gain as much experience as you can and try to take advantage of as many shots as you can then practicing your casting and fishing as much as possible will get you to that level!
