Start the thread at the midpoint on the shank and make a thread base back to the bend. Dub an elongated oval shaped ball for the rear of the ant, being careful to keep this on the back end of the hook.Step 2
Tie in a black rooster hackle just on front of the rear segment.Step 3
Wrap the hackle about three or four turns and tie off. Clip the excess hackle.Step 4
Make a thread base on the front end of the shank.Step 5
Build another smaller ball of dubbing just in front of the hackle. Whip finish and clip the thread.
