Less than an hour northeast of Buffalo is the sleepy little town of Albion, population 5,500. This upstate hamlet is typical of the region, complete with turn-of-the-century architecture and friendly locals. Just a few miles from the center of town is Oak Orchard Creek--a delightful river with a variety of water conditions ranging from long, placid pools, to fast rapids and everything in between.
With the arrival of fall, the river has come alive. Thousands of giant brown trout, Chinook salmon, and steelhead are making their annual fall migration up Oak Orchard Creek, and fly anglers after the trophy of a lifetime are there to meet them.
