Country artist and former fishing guide Colby Acuff has launched a new outdoor docuseries titled Fin and Feather, now available on YouTube . The series, created in partnership with director Benjamin Dunning, aims to offer a different take on outdoor storytelling by focusing on themes of conservation, culture, and the people who live closely with land and water.
“This show came together much like my songs–no script, no agenda, just real experiences and real people,” Acuff said in a press release. “I’ve traded a lot of my days on the water for nights on the road, but the outdoors has always been where I feel most alive. This passion project is a way to connect the two and give back to the places and people that made me who I am. Fin and Feather means a hell of a lot to me, I hope you enjoy it.”
Each short-form episode blends personal narrative with interviews featuring river guides, outfitters, and local residents. The series explores a variety of American landscapes through the lens of outdoor recreation, particularly fly-fishing and waterfowling.

Acuff, a fourth-generation Idaho native, spent years guiding fishing in the Northwest before shifting to a full-time music career. He views the project as a way to reconnect with the outdoor world and use his platform to highlight the work of lesser-known conservation voices. The series also touches on broader environmental issues, such as public access and resource management.
Acuff spent years guiding anglers on remote Idaho rivers before becoming a professional musician. The debut episode features Arkansas’ White River and documents conversations with fishing guides about the challenges and opportunities facing the region’s trout fishery. Additional episodes are expected to follow throughout the year, supported by sponsors including Duck Camp , Turtlebox , XtraTuf, Costa , Airlite, Abel Reels , Ross Reels , YETI , and Airflo .
“No one cares about the size of your fish or how many birds,” says Acuff. “What they truly care about is having the chance to fool nature again tomorrow.”

The debut episode follows Acuff to Arkansas’ famed White River where he joins guides Luke Coffey and Ben Levin to explore the growing tension of increasing pressure on a resource with only three of 90 miles under catch-and-release protections.
