My good friend, Charlie Meck, is about to have his new book hit the shelves. I spoke with Charlie often during this project, and I'm very excited to see the finished product. Charlie believes this to be one of his best books (he has written some great ones), and I know he is excited too. He is particularly fond of his Quick Trim flies...a VERY cool idea.
Here are a few of the book's highlights:
- Hatch-matching veteran Charlie Meck shares his secrets for finding and fishing the hatches
- Ten simple lessons that cover bug basics, the major hatches, timing, unorthodox strategies, the best streams for certain hatches
- New Hatch Matcher and Quick Trim flies
- Includes hatch charts for the entire United States
I've never met an angler who has more knowledge of hatches throughout the United States than Charlie does. And much of what I know about hatches, I learned from him. Charlie's down to earth writing style makes matching hatches seem easy even for the least experienced fly fisher. Charlie Meck is one of the most important, most respected, fly fishing authors of the last 50 years, and any new work coming from him is surely a must-buy. It's great to see our sport's legends continuing to produce books that will guide a new generation of fly anglers into the twenty first century.
