Sylvia Bashline, an outdoor writing legend, passed away at her home on September 20, 2011. She was 78 years old. Sylvia was best known for her 3 fish and game cookbooks as well as being the food editor for Field and Stream magazine and a columnist for Outdoor Life magazine. She was also the executive director for OWAA (Outdoor Writers Association of America) for 10 years and the former president of the Pennsylvania Outdoor Writer Association .
Her obituary in State College, PA's Centre Daily Times can be read here:

Mrs. Bashline's husband, Jim, was a Pennsylvania fly fishing legend. He was an early contributor to Fly Fisherman magazine and the writer of one of my favorite books, Night Fishing for Trout; a book that every fly fisher, but especially those who fish Pennsylvania, should read. Mr. Bashline preceded Sylvia on June 6, 1995.

Just like the mythic Goodsell Hole that Mr. Bashline so eloquently opined about in his book, the Bashlines are now both gone too.
The only constant in life is change. Make sure you fish while you can.
