The Scott Fly Rod Company has unveiled its latest innovation in freshwater fly rods with the release of the new GT Series. Building on nearly five decades of experience from the G Series, the GT rods introduce new materials and design refinements while preserving the smooth, progressive action and tippet protection that have defined the series.

The GT Series features Scott’s thinnest-walled blanks to date, made possible by an updated X-Core design and multi-modulus layups. These blanks are paired with ARC2 multidirectional fibers to enhance recovery speed, stability, and accuracy. A redesigned hollow internal ferrule—now 20 percent lighter—further improves flex and feel, allowing anglers to detect subtle strikes and movements with precision.

Offered in new length and line-weight configurations, many of which are firsts for the G Series, the GT lineup spans 7'4" to 9'8" in four- and five-piece models for 3- to 6-weight lines. Each rod is handcrafted in Montrose, Colorado, and individually serialized.

Aesthetic upgrades include milled aluminum reel seats with type 3 hard coat, cocobolo wood inserts, titanium-framed zirconia stripping guides, and Snake Brand Universal Guides. Measuring wraps and alignment dots round out the attention to detail.

“No other rods match the legacy and longevity of the Scott G Series—rods that are filled with firsts, fished the world over, and passed down through generations,” said a press release. “The Scott Fly Rod Company has pushed themselves to make (the GT series) some of the most artful and soulful rods they’ve ever crafted.”

The Scott GT Series is available now at authorized fly shops.
