Take A Youth Fishing

Mom and son

We've all heard it before...Take a youth fishing...

Fall is upon us which means cold weather will be here before we know it.  You've been telling yourself all summer that you are going to take your daughter, son, niece, nephew or neighbor out fishing.  Now is the time.  You won't regret it and the youth you get outdoors could be forever changed because of the experience.  In a world where technology and a padded chair get more use than the great outdoors, today's youth need to experience mother nature more than ever.

Recently my friend and famous Green River fly fishing guide Charles Card offered to row my little family down the "A" section of the Green.  It was a beautiful day with plenty of fish, nets, sticks and bouncy rapids to keep my 15 month old son quite content.  He still gets excited when you ask him about his boat ride with Charlie.

Get a youngster you know outdoors.  Better yet, take them fishing!
