Team USA secured third place at the 44th FIPS-Mouche World Fly Fishing Championship, which concluded on May 31. The week-long competition, held in the picturesque South-West Bohemia region of the Czech Republic. Team France took gold and Team Poland won the silver.
Michael Bradley took third place individually with 18 placings resulting in 63,840 points. He landed 87 fish, the longest of which was 461 mm (just over 18 inches). Team USA’s Jack Arnot took 18th, Devin Olsen took 36th, Mike Komara ended in 42nd, and Cody Burgdorff finished 45th.
“Michaels accomplishments as an individual angler are significant, but it is the cumulation of both his skills and decision making, and the intel he gets from the team that allows him to reach the highest potential,” Glade Gunther, Team President and Fly Director for US Angling, said. “We actually see the team finish as much more of an accomplishment, as every angler one of our anglers finished in the top 50 which is the second time in a row. We also achieved Bronze in France as a result. We have spent a decade building the team to be able to compete with the best European teams, of which France is on the top right now.”
Team USA continued its recent success with this impressive finish . In 2022, Team USA Masters won gold at the 7th FIPS-Mouche Masters World Fly Fishing Championship held in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy. The USA Fly Fishing Youth team won gold in the FIPS-Mouche World Youth Fly Fishing Championships in 2023 and 2024.
