G Loomis NRX Rods

With no in-person trade shows this year—ICAST for conventional anglers and IFTD for fly anglers—new product introductions in 2020 are a bit more personal as industry friends like Fly Fisherman editor Ross Purnell and G. Loomis representative Red Kulper talk about what's new in the year of COVID-19. For longtime fly rod maker G. Loomis, the historic company is building on its NRX+ Freshwater series from a year ago, debuting the company's new NRX+ Saltwater series this year. Like its freshwater counterparts, the new saltwater rod series—complete with the company's Nano Alloy Resin System, titanium stripper guides, recoil running guides, and a micro-taper design—can do it all from delicate casts of small shrimp patterns to tailing redfish at 20 feet to wind resistant tarpon flies heading downrange to a big silver king cruising by at 80-feet. Whatever the target species, these rods feel good in the fly shop when you're giving them a test drive and they feel even better when you're double-hauling a cast out on the windy saltwater flats or open ocean.
