Matching the Sockeye Egg Hatch

Bristol Bay is the largest sockeye-salmon producing watershed in the world. In 2018 the run was estimated at total of 62.3 million fish with an escapement (unharvested fish that were able to spawn) of 21 million fish. Join Fly Fisherman editor Ross Purnell as he explains why this is important to fly fishers, and how to effectively rig to imitate the sockeye egg "hatch" and catch beautiful native rainbow trout.
