Free Fly’s new Gridback Fleece Jacket is a comfortable and simple fleece jacket that is great for shoulder-seasons or as a layer at colder times. It is a very lightweight coat lined with a high-quality “Gridback” fleece that is both warm and extremely soft. The outer features a durable water-repellent (DWR) finish that helps to shed light rain and snow. The jacket also has a stretchy, woven shell that provides additional protection from the elements, while also allowing for a comfortable fit.

The term “Gridback” refers to the fleece interior that features a soft, high-pile fleece that traps and retains heat throughout gridded channels.

It can be worn as a standalone jacket on cool days, or it can be layered under a shell jacket for added warmth in colder weather. The jacket also packs down small, making it easy to take with you on the river or in the boat.

There are actually three options in the Gridback lineup: the Flex Hoodie as a base layer, this fleece, and the Cloudshield Rain Jacket as an outer layer. All three come as either men’s or women’s.

The Free Fly Gridback Fleece would make a great addition for anyone looking for a versatile and classy fleece jacket that can be worn in a variety of different ways to suit different purposes.
