Australian-based iWader ($119-$129, www.iwaderfishing.com ) is a burgeoning company gaining in popularity among international and American fly anglers. Founded in 2015, they recently were the official wader of the 39th FIPS-Mouche World Fly Fishing Championship 2019 held in Tasmania, Australia.
3-layer patented GT STRETCH highly elastic fabric flexes in four directions allowing for increased mobility. Our field tester found his movements unrestricted while hiking, hopping over logs or ducking under fallen trees on his way to the stream. The material feels like a shell jacket mixed with a thin wet suit creating a soft, yet breathable wader. A large front pocket offers storage for fly boxes, tippet and other essentials while two built in D-rings near the shoulder strap buckles allow for easy attachment of a chest pack and tools. An interior flip-out zip pocket and velcro pocket offer a safe place for phones and keys. The adjustable elastic shoulder straps have opposing buckles, so you can convert to waist high waders on warmer days. Reinforced knees and shins have a cross-stitched, plasticized field for added durability and wear. iWader is a warmer wader and built for cooler temperatures. A microfleece handwarmer pocket would be a great addition especially for North American anglers that fish in cooler climates.
Every wader is filled with compressed air and tested for leaks in an immersion tank. iWader offers a 60-day replacement for any leaks and a 1-year free of charge repair service.
