Mayfly Outdoors Wins Industry Partner Award

Given by Colorado TU to recognize commitment to TU's mission to protect coldwater fisheries.

Mayfly Outdoors Wins Industry Partner Award

Mayfly Outdoors was awarded with Colorado Trout Unlimited’s (CTU) Exemplary Industry Partner Award at the October 22 CTU Fall Rendezvous.

Mayfly Outdoors, parent company of fly-fishing brands including Abel fly reels, Ross Reels, and Airflo fly lines, was awarded with Colorado Trout Unlimited’s (CTU) Exemplary Industry Partner Award at the October 22 CTU Fall Rendezvous. The accolade was given to Mayfly for “their support of conservation through various collaborations and their vision and leadership in improving habitat and providing public angling access along the Uncompahgre River in Montrose.”

Abel has produced many collab reels benefitting non-profits like Casting for Recovery, the Sportsman’s Alliance for Alaska, Project Healing Waters, the Western Rivers Conservancy, Rivers of Recovery, and of course, Trout Unlimited. The brand has always donated 10 percent of every sale to various means of fishing conservation. Airflo makes the world's only PVC-free series of fly fishing lines, which don't leach polluting "plasticizers" unlike lines made with PVC.

Mayfly Outdoors is headquartered in Montrose, Colorado.

Conservationist Ken Neubecker won the Bruce Hoagland Award for Leadership in Conservation for “his lifetime of conservation leadership as an advocate, educator, and conservator.” Andrew Todd took home the Trout Conservation Award for “his work in building public interest in angling and native trout through the Flyathlon (combining trail running, fishing, and craft beer drinking) and establishment of Running Rivers as a nonprofit.” Rare Waters, a private-land fly-fishing booking company, shared the industry award with Mayfly for “support of conservation as part of their business model.”
