Moving Water: An Artist's Reflections on Fly Fishing, Friendship and Family

Dave Hall’s book Moving Water: An Artist’s Reflections on Fly Fishing, Friendship and Family explores the friendships we make through our passions—in his case fly fishing.

“You will read this beautiful little book in the time of a cup of tea, but you will want to contemplate it over and over again,” says Patagonia’s Yvon Chouinard.

Hall’s paintings and books have raised over $35,000 for river conservation, and 25 percent of every book sale at MovingWater.org/giving-back goes toward ongoing conservation support. Signed copies are available.

“We all need to do what we can. It’s as simple as that,” he says.

Winner of the 2019 Outdoor Writers Association of America Excellence in Craft Contest for best book, Moving Water features 20 of Dave’s ethereal landscape paintings and includes his personal story about fly fishing as a boy, the influence of a family of artists and the closest of friends, and an ending that will both sadden and inspire.

54 pages, hardcover 20 color landscape paintings ISBN 978-0-692-14734-4 $23.95
