Orvis and Four Wheel Campers Launch Special Edition Truck Camper

Features include a "mud room" for waders and boots, storage for up to six rods, and much more.

Orvis and Four Wheel Campers Launch Special Edition Truck Camper
The special edition campers start at $38,000.

The Orvis Company and Four Wheel Campers (FWC) are thrilled to announce the launch of a collaboratively designed truck camper, purpose-built for fly fishing and camping enthusiasts.

“The hands-on development process of The Orvis Edition Four Wheel Camper was a great opportunity to take a legendary camper platform and integrate fly-fishing specific features designed to enhance an angler’s experience on and off the water,” according to an Orvis announcement. “During the ideation phase Orvis product and marketing teams were able to design streamlined storage solutions for fly rods, as well as an internal ‘mud-room’ closet for wet waders, boots, and additional gear. Simultaneously as the fishing-specific features came to life, the Four-Wheel Campers team elevated their core product offering to achieve a nimble camper design for full-size trucks that is stylish, and extremely functional on the water or in the field.”

Check out the video walk-through:

The new truck camper boasts features specifically tailored for fly-fishing enthusiasts:

  • Slide-in pop-up camper models to fit most full-size trucks.
  • Lockable exterior compartments to store and easily access up to six rods and reels.
  • A “mud room” cabinet space with a drain, accessible from both inside and outside the camper, ideal for storing and drying muddy and wet waders, boots, and other gear.
  • Robust water and rub-resistant recycled Orvis Eco Cordura fabric for seating and mattress covering.
  • Exterior vertical L-Track system to facilitate multiple hanging gear accessories.
  • Special Orvis Edition FWC badging.

In addition to its fly fishing-specific features, the camper is equipped with everything needed to support a comfortable and convenient camping experience:

  • A lightweight and highly durable aluminum frame, siding, and roof.
  • Campers pop up manually or via auto lift assist to an interior height of 6’ 8”.
  • A choice of a king- or queen-size bed with underbed storage.
  • Truma VarioHeat comfort luxury furnace.
  • Truma AquaGo comfort water heater.
  • A portable propane or electric stove.
  • A hot/cold sink and exterior shower.
  • New all-black cabinetry and bamboo countertops.
  • Dinette seating with Lagun hardware and bamboo tabletop.
  • Optional roof-mounted air conditioning.

The "mud room" is accessible from both the outside and inside of the camper.

This groundbreaking truck camper combines Orvis’s long-standing expertise in fly fishing with Four Wheel Campers’ leadership in outdoor adventure vehicles. I suspect we will start seeing these “pop up” everywhere we fish soon.
