Review: Dave Scadden Paddlesports 2023 Cast & Blast One-Man Raft

This frameless one-person fishing machine weighs just 28 pounds, but due to its rigid, self-bailing 6-inch floor (sturdy like a SUP), Scadden’s inflated and rigid Air Pod Oar Lock System, and compressed-air Landing Deck Bench Seat system, it’s a rock-solid platform for all your fishing adventures on rivers and stillwaters.

You can pull the Cast & Blast out of the back of your SUV and have it ready to fish in less than 5 minutes. There’s very little “assembly” of any kind—you just inflate it with an electric or manual cylinder pump. The craft is 9 feet long, 54 inches wide, and the inflated bench sits on top of the inflated 6-inch floor system. It’s wide and sturdy enough to stand and cast and sight fish. The folding hard plastic seat that locks to the bench is optional, but highly recommended. The Cast & Blast has a class IV whitewater rating, a stainless steel retention bar, and even an integrated motor mount. Add a small outboard for ponds and small lakes, and you can go almost anywhere.
