Rod Ferrules Lead to Rod Breakage

Rod Ferrules Lead to Rod Breakage

One of the leading reasons for rod breakage is loose rod ferrules. The more you cast the more your ferrules can loosen up. As the ferrules loosen the rod will begin to hinge and create a week connection causing the rod to break.

It is always a good idea to check your ferrules continuously throughout the day. Make sure there is a secure and tight fit so there is no hinging. This is just one of those little things that can save you some grief in the long run.
