If you are a true streamer junkie , you love going after the big fish. You’ll throw a Drunk & Disorderly or a Headbanger Sculpin all day just for that one grab from a truly large trout. And for the ultimate streamer junkie, there’s only one thing better than a trout on streamers, it’s a big trout on a streamer from small water, or in a really tight spot. Scientific Anglers’ new Sonar Trout Express helps get that accomplished with a short rear-weighted head that makes it easy to roll cast when you don’t have much room for a backcast. An extended floating rear taper helps make long casts when you are covering open water. On the business end, there is a sinking tip that uses Scientific Anglers’ SD Blend technology for a smooth transition between densities, starting with an intermediate rear portion and ending with a Sink 5 tip. This graduated density means the line sinks at an angle, and stays in a straight line and doesn’t form a belly. If you fish streamers, you know that a big curve in the line dulls your active, twitchy retrieves, and reduces the effectiveness of your hook-sets. The line has a braided multifilament core and comes in grain weights 165, 185, 210, 240, and 275 (6- through 10-weight).
