Simms Fishing Products, manufacturers of industry-leading waders, packs, outerwear, apparel, and accessories announced the acquisition of a 100-percent stake in The River’s Edge Fly Shops , located in Bozeman, Montana, on Tuesday.
According to a press release, nothing major will change at either of the shops’ two locations – one located downtown and another across the street from Simms’ headquarters and manufacturing facility in Four Corners a few miles west of city limits. The previous co-owners, Dan Lohmiller, Steve Summerhill, and Daniel Uter, will remain with The River’s Edge as co-managers.
“This transaction is the next logical step for Simms to get closer to, and better understand, the wants and needs of all anglers,” Simms CEO Casey Sheahan said in the press release.
In 2019, Simms acquired a 25 percent share of ownership in The River’s Edge Fly Shops.

“Our goal is to learn more about enhancing the consumer experience through our unique partnership with Simms at The River’s Edge and bring those findings to specialty fly and conventional retailers across the country,” Simms Chief Revenue Officer Mike Moore added.
“(Simms’) approach, expertise, and commitment to providing anglers with the best experience possible has greatly contributed to the longevity, growth, and reputation our business has achieved,” Lohmiller said.
