The ultra-durable construction of the G3 Guide Boot is loosely based on workboot designs with a stitched welt. At first glance the stitching is reminiscent of premium steel-toe construction boots, Ariat cowboy boots, or Italian dress shoes, which all use this cobbler-approved construction that emphasizes durability.

The boot upper combines abrasion-resistant textile mesh, and synthetic and natural rubber with scratch rubber overlays. The Vibram IdroGrip outsole has what Simms calls a Traction Lug design where each geometrically angled lug has an outer perimeter of slightly depressed, corrugated texture so you gain traction on rocks pressing in between the lugs. Simms says the design has 20% better wet-slip resistance than the standard Vibram IdroGrip design. The outsole is compatible with Simms HardBite and Alumibite Star Cleats and HardBite Studs.
