The Tug is the Drug by Chris Santella. Headwater Books & Midcurrent.com, April 2014, $7 ebook, ISBN: 978-1-934753-23-1.
Chris Santella is the author of a plethora of "fifty places" books such as Fifty Places To Fly Fish Before You Die , Fifty Places to Ski and Snowboard Before You Die , Fifty Places to Go Birding Before You Die , and, well, you get the idea. He's also a regular contributor to The New York Times , and the prolific, well-traveled writer shows in his new ebook that his capacity for storytelling extends far beyond just "the best places."
The Tug is the Drug is an anthology of 30 of Santella's best essays, many of which first appeared in The New York Times . Topics range from leaping makos near the fairways of Torrey Pines, to midnight Atlantic salmon fishing on the fabled Ponoi, to encounters with friendly mujeres on the streets of Havana. Did you know Bob Dylan had an obsession with fishing in the 1970s? I didn't either, but Santella covers that as well.
The book is part of a new collaboration between Headwater Books and Midcurrent.com and is available only in electronic format (.mobi and .epub) for all mobile devices and personal computers.
