Premium vise brand joins Abel, Ross, and Airflo; Operations will move to Montrose, Colorado.

Mayfly Outdoors Acquires Dyna-King Vises

Dyna-King joins Abel Reels, Ross Reels, and Airflo fly lines under Mayfly Outdoors umbrella.

Mayfly Outdoors, parent company of Abel Reels, Ross Reels, and Airflo fly lines, completed its acquisition of Dyna-King, Inc., manufacturers of high-end fly-tying vises. Dyna-King’s production will move from Cloverdale, California to Montrose, Colorado, where Mayfly is headquartered, over the coming months.

“This is a great day for our company as we continue to grow our family of brands,” President of Mayfly Group Jeff Wagner said. “Dyna-King is perfectly suited to join the likes of Ross and Abel as U.S. Made, premium, legacy, fly fishing products.”

Dyna-King currently produces eight vise models, ranging in price from $900 for the Side-Winder Rotary to $375 for the Trekker travel vise.

“It is a positive move for Dyna-King,” Karen Hall, current President of Dyna-King, said. “My mom and dad are giving me the ‘atta-girl’ from Heaven. We are excited to see the family legacy continue with a company that is willing to care for it.”
